Former member of the National Assembly; in Kuwait during the invasion; managed to flee and join the FKC in London


"It wasn't until I was stopped to show my ID card that I heard the Iraqi accent. I also realized that the man in an officer's uniform was unable to read. My worst nightmare had begun.

"The invasion of Kuwait was unthinkable and unbearable. The horrors and suffering inflicted on us needed to be told. Everyone's effort during our campaign was just another reflection of the unwavering resolve to return one day to a free Kuwait. I will always be thankful for the strength and selfless sacrifices made during this time, and the support of good friends, which ultimately allowed us to go home.
